What are the problems with the new Ford Bronco?
The new Ford Bronco, which is expected to start production in 2020 if all goes according to plan, has been pictured on numerous occasions with its sharp angles and boxy design. This isn't necessarily a problem, but some people are concerned that the new truck will be too ''square'', especially compared with the classic version of the original Ford Bronco.
How long is the wait for a Ford Bronco?
The standard, two-door version of the Bronco was an honest-to-goodness mid-size SUV u2014 and we'll never get another one of those. It's been 30 years since Ford stopped making them, and probably just as long since you pulled your old Bronco out of the garage. If that's your plan for this year's ''bucket list'' ride, you're going to be disappointed.
Are Ford Broncos reliable cars?
In a word, yes. In other words, as long as you take care of them and keep up with the regular maintenance, they will run well for a very long time. They are tough vehicles that can handle off-roading quite well (provided it is not too extreme). The engine is known to go through oil (some claim 1 quart every 1000 miles), but other than that, they are relatively low maintenance. Most problems happen with the gearbox, though; the four-speed manual often gets stuck between gears or has faulty synchros, which makes driving difficult, especially if it happens when trying to engage first gear. The solution is either finding another gearbox (not easy due to limited availability) or rebuilding/synchronizing yours; it can be done by a mechanic, but it takes time and money.
